Welcome

Welcome to Koshari Game Ranch

Just two and a half hours drive north of Pretoria you will find Koshari Game Ranch. Koshari Game Ranch is situated in the Waterberg Region of Limpopo Province. With breathtaking views, savannah bush, open grasslands and fauna and flora at its best, Koshari Game Ranch is as diverse as the Waterberg itself.

This 1300ha patch of heaven is where you will possibly find yourself more relaxed than at any other time in your life.

Sit on your veranda and watch the game come down to the waterhole in front of your chalet or as they graze on the open plain in front of you.

With options of self walk or drive our guests are welcome to enjoy Koshari Game Ranch at their own leisure but can also request guided walks and game drives should they wish.

Although we do have two of the big 5, our buffalo are kept separate from our guests and the leopard in the area are not habituated to people and so don't pose a problem to our guests. We do not have rhino on the property. Koshari is also home to a large number of animal species as well as over 250 bird species and ideal habitat for a very large number of reptile species.

"I now doubt if our creator rested on the seventh day. I'm sure he just sneaked off and created Koshari. It's stunning! Dean and Errol were superb hosts and treated us to a fantastic bush drive culminating in watching the sun setting in an array of colours. Koshari will definitely see us often in the future - it's a mind- and soul-cleansing experience. Dean's knowledge of the fauna and flora is astonishing as well. Thanks to our hosts for sharing their little paradise with us."

About the Waterberg

Vaalwater is the central village of the Waterberg area, the heart of the Bushveld region. The Waterberg has been described as South Africa's best keep secret. Its rugged beauty, together with its diversity in plant and animal life, has led to the development of several exciting eco-tourism projects such as the biosphere reserve – the Waterberg Nature Conservancy – the amalgamation of conservation areas in order to protect more than 150 000 hectares of the Waterberg-habitat.

The Waterberg-range, incorporating many rivers, streams and swamps, stretches for 150 kilometers in a long arc from Thabazimbi in the West, Nylstroom in the center to Potgietersrus in the east. Apart from the spectacular scenery of the mountains themselves, there are many game sanctuaries, nature reserves and farms, many offering accommodation.

Waterberg Biosphere Reserve is situated in the Bushveld district in the Limpopo Province of South Africa and was established in 2001. The Waterberg, as the name suggests serves as a water reservoir for this arid region. The area consists of low mountain ranges and escarpments, (from 800 to 2000 meters in altitude) as well as a network of rivers, streams and lakes, which make the Waterberg so appealing.
